Outlook Fails to Connect (Opens default browser - OPX in URL)

Issue:

Upon opening Outlook, profile would not connect

Default browser opens and gets stuck on signing in account

URL has 'opx' after https://outlook.office.com


Pre-requistes

Verify you can add user's account under another Windows profile (Eliminates network or local computer issue)


Resolution

Step #1: Close all Office apps


Step #2: Open Regedit

Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft

Rename Office to Office.OLD


Step #3: Open File Explorer

Navigate to C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Microsoft

Rename Outlook to Outlook.old


Step #4: Reboot computer


Step #5: Open Word/Excel

Reactivate software

Open Outlook

If initial profile doesn't work, create new profile and should connect
