Windows 10: Mapped Drives Fail to Connect After Upgrading to Version 2004
Issue appears to be with login scripts and 2003 and possibly 2008.
Steps
- Remove login script from user's AD account - May take a bit to propagate (~10-15 minutes)
- Delete all mapped drives
- Regedit - Delete any residuals:
- Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Network\Z or your drive letter, I deleted Z.
- Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Map Network Drive MRU and delete the entry, (a, b, etc), for your drive.
- Reboot to ensure drives don't remap
- Upgrade desktop to 2004
- Manually map network drives
- For MF-BACKUP (2003) (R and Z drives) do the following
- Regedit
- [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Network\r] and [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Network\Z]
- For each: "ProviderFlags" (32 bit d-word / hex value 1)
- Reboot and test
